Let’s get you prepared for Day 1 on the job.

1. Research your company (and its people), the job responsibilities, and prepare some questions
Learn more about the company, its competitors, the industry, and research your team members, manager, and company leadership. Refresh your memory and get acquainted with the details.
Demonstrate your curiosity by asking good questions on the first day. Have a list of questions handy for managers that you think you might meet. These questions can be about the company, work, or their experiences.
Reread the job description that you were hired for. Understand what tools you’ll be using and the responsibilities you’ll have. If the role requires Excel then take some time to brush up on your Excel skills. If the role requires data analysis skills then browse some articles or videos on how to be a great data analyst. You can even network with people who have the same position and ask them about their day-to-day.

2. Prepare your elevator pitch
You’re in first impression mode with everyone you meet during your first week. Be prepared to have an elevator pitch ready about who you are and your background. Your coworkers may ask you what projects you’ll be working on or what you like to do for fun!
3. Double-check all your paperwork
Most likely you were asked to complete some paperwork before your first day. Make sure you have all the necessary materials and identification required.
4. Dress for success and show up early
Make sure to set your alarms for your first day and don’t be late for your first day! The first day is when you will take a photo for your badge ID so make sure you are dressed appropriately.
